Load-shedding means the suspension of the supply of electricity. It is currently the most discussed problem in Bangladesh. It has become a national crisis. There are many causes of load-shedding. Firstly, inadequate generation of the power supply is the main cause of load-shedding. Secondly, the unplanned distribution of electricity is another cause. Thirdly, illegal connections and artificial shortages of production are also responsible for load-shedding. Besides, Stealing electricity is the pretext for the system. There are many bad impacts of load-shedding. It creates a lot of problems that have far-reaching consequences on the socio-economic development of the country. It frustrates social and personal progress. Because of load-shedding, the entire lifestyle both domestic and industrial comes to a standstill. Domestic life becomes painful as the homemaker’s group in the dark kitchen. The factories, mills, and industries come to a close. It hampers the normal productivity of mills and factories. Students can’t continue their studies. Often in the city shops, markets, cinema halls, and cold storage people have to suffer greatly due to the disruption of electricity. Emergency medical treatment is badly hampered. Medical patients may suffer terribly. The foods kept in the refrigerator got rotten due to load-shedding. Load-shedding helps criminals commit crimes in darkness. Now, this problem is going out of control day by day. The government should come forward to solve it. They should set up more electricity plants to meet up the demand for electricity. Authority must disconnect Illegal connections and fine the responsible persons. As our everyday life mostly depends on electrical gadgets, machines, computers, and online; undoubtedly electricity is very essential in our life to keep it uninterruptedly running. Load shedding causes unwanted and disgraceful situations and problems in our socio-economic lifestyle which must be solved as early as possible. Public awareness is also important in this respect.

লোডশেডিং মানে বিদ্যুতের সরবরাহ বন্ধ হয়ে যাওয়া। এটি বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশের সবচেয়ে আলোচিত সমস্যা। এটি একটি জাতীয় সংকটে পরিণত হয়েছে। লোডশেডিংয়ের অনেক কারণ রয়েছে। প্রথমত, বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহের অপর্যাপ্ত উৎপাদনই লোডশেডিংয়ের প্রধান কারণ। দ্বিতীয়ত, বিদ্যুতের অপরিকল্পিত বন্টন আরেকটি কারণ। তৃতীয়ত, অবৈধ সংযোগ এবং উৎপাদনের কৃত্রিম ঘাটতিও লোডশেডিংয়ের জন্য দায়ী। এছাড়া বিদ্যুৎ চুরি হচ্ছে সিস্টেমের অজুহাত। লোডশেডিংয়ের অনেক খারাপ প্রভাব রয়েছে। এটি অনেক সমস্যার সৃষ্টি করে যা দেশের আর্থ-সামাজিক উন্নয়নে সুদূরপ্রসারী পরিণতি বয়ে আনে। এটি সামাজিক এবং ব্যক্তিগত অগ্রগতি হতাশাগ্রস্ত করে। লোডশেডিংয়ের কারণে, দেশীয় এবং শিল্প উভয়ই সমগ্র জীবনধারা স্থবির হয়ে পড়ে। অন্ধকার রান্নাঘরে গৃহবধূরা দল বেঁধে যাওয়ায় গৃহস্থালি জীবন যন্ত্রণাদায়ক হয়ে ওঠে। কল-কারখানা, মাইল, শিল্প-কারখানা বন্ধ হয়ে আসে। এতে কল-কারখানার স্বাভাবিক উৎপাদনশীলতা ব্যাহত হয়। শিক্ষার্থীরা তাদের পড়াশোনা চালিয়ে যেতে পারছে না। প্রায়ই নগরীর দোকানপাট, মার্কেট, সিনেমা হল, হিমাগারে বিদ্যুৎ বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে মানুষকে চরম ভোগান্তিতে পড়তে হয়। জরুরী চিকিৎসা ব্যাহত হচ্ছে। মেডিকেল রোগীদের ভয়ানক ভোগান্তি হতে পারে. লোডশেডিংয়ের কারণে ফ্রিজে রাখা খাবার পচে গেছে। লোডশেডিং অপরাধীদের অন্ধকারে অপরাধ করতে সাহায্য করে। এখন এই সমস্যা দিন দিন নিয়ন্ত্রণের বাইরে চলে যাচ্ছে। এর সমাধানে সরকারকে এগিয়ে আসতে হবে। বিদ্যুতের চাহিদা মেটাতে তাদের আরও বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র স্থাপন করা উচিত। কর্তৃপক্ষকে অবশ্যই অবৈধ সংযোগ বিচ্ছিন্ন করতে হবে এবং দায়ী ব্যক্তিদের জরিমানা করতে হবে। যেহেতু আমাদের দৈনন্দিন জীবন বেশিরভাগ বৈদ্যুতিক গ্যাজেট, মেশিন এবং কম্পিউটার এবং অনলাইনের উপর নির্ভর করে; নিঃসন্দেহে বিদ্যুৎ আমাদের জীবনে নিরবচ্ছিন্নভাবে চালু রাখার জন্য খুবই প্রয়োজনীয়। লোডশেডিং আমাদের আর্থ-সামাজিক জীবনধারায় অবাঞ্ছিত এবং অসম্মানজনক পরিস্থিতি এবং সমস্যার সৃষ্টি করে যা যত তাড়াতাড়ি সম্ভব সমাধান করা উচিত। এ ক্ষেত্রে জনসচেতনতাও জরুরি।
